Bengaluru Police Arrest Four in ₹34 Crore MDMA Seizure; Nigerian National Among Accused

In a major anti-narcotics operation, the Hebbal police in Bengaluru arrested four individuals suspected of interstate drug peddling and seized 17.58 kg of MDMA crystals, valued at approximately ₹34 crore. The accused include a Nigerian national who, according to police, had previously challenged law enforcement on social media.

The police stated that the Nigerian suspect, identified as Solomon Tochukwu, posted online messages encouraging local peddlers to continue drug sales despite increased enforcement. Investigators believe the operation was directed by a kingpin based in Nigeria, who communicated with local distributors after an earlier seizure.

The accused adopted a new method of concealment, hiding MDMA inside food packets to avoid detection during transport. The Hebbal police formed five special teams and conducted simultaneous raids in Bengaluru and New Delhi, leading to the arrests.

Those arrested include Tochukwu, who was hiding in New Delhi; Rakangmi Taniros from Manipur; and Bengaluru-based accused Mohan Kumar and Johnson, who were allegedly involved in distribution within the city.

Police are continuing investigations to uncover the wider interstate drug network and identify other associates. Further details are awaited.
