Bengaluru NEET Exam: Minister Rejects Allegation of Rally Causing Delay
Karnataka Home Minister Priyank Kharge on Sunday dismissed as “ill-founded” an allegation by BJP MP Tejasvi Surya that a Congress rally caused NEET students to arrive late at a Bengaluru exam centre.
The minister stated that only three students arrived late at the RC College examination centre in central Bengaluru, and that there were varied reasons for them being barred from entering the exam halls. He did not specify the reasons.
Surya had earlier shared visuals on social media of three girl students weeping outside the centre after being disallowed from taking the exam for reportedly arriving late. In a video attached by the BJP MP, a parent was heard saying the Congress rally delayed a student’s arrival.
Kharge’s rebuttal comes amid a political row over the incident, with both parties trading accusations. The minister urged that the matter not be politicised and called for a factual investigation.
