Bengaluru gym trainer murder: Fifth accused arrested for disposing of body

The Karnataka Police have made a fifth arrest in connection with the murder of a gym trainer, Vijay Kumar, whose decomposed body was found near the Bannerghatta forest on June 9. The accused, identified as Vikas, was taken into custody from Hoskote on Wednesday for allegedly helping the four main accused dispose of the body.

According to sources, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) acted on evidence gathered by the Bannerghatta police before arresting Vikas. The victim had gone missing on June 6, and his body was discovered three days later in a forested area on the outskirts of Bengaluru.

The case was transferred to the CID on June 29 after allegations surfaced against a senior Karnataka Police officer. The allegations were made by the wife of a key suspect, a real estate businessman who is accused of masterminding the killing. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to determine the full sequence of events leading to the murder.
