Andhra Pradesh to Launch Statewide Digital Health Programme 'Sanjeevani' in August
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced on Saturday that the state government's flagship healthcare initiative, 'Sanjeevani', will be implemented across the state starting August. The programme is an integrated digital system designed to improve healthcare service delivery.
Speaking at an event in Aspari, Alur Assembly constituency, Mr. Naidu detailed the project's features, which leverage technology to enhance public health. Under Sanjeevani, a digital health profile will be created for every individual, and ABHA Health IDs will be issued to all family members. Comprehensive health data from Primary Health Centres to the state level will be integrated into a single platform.
The programme will incorporate services related to non-communicable diseases, maternal and child health, paediatric health screenings, '108' emergency services, '104' mobile medical units, e-Aushadhi, and laboratory services. Additionally, AI-based medical assistance, telemedicine, remote care, predictive analytics, and digital nerve centres will be included to address future needs.
“Through the Sanjeevani Citizen Wellness App, people can book doctor appointments and access their health records at any time,” the Chief Minister said.
Mr. Naidu advised citizens to adopt healthy habits and lifestyles, stating, “The government is working towards the goal of healthy families, healthy villages, and a healthy Andhra Pradesh. Equal priority is being accorded to public health and welfare.”
He also highlighted other welfare measures: “Financial security is being provided to the poor through disbursal of pensions on the first of every month, and farmers are receiving ₹20,000 as assistance through the Annadata Sukhibhava scheme.” Other initiatives mentioned include support for students via Thalliki Vandanam, women's empowerment through Stree Shakti, LPG cylinders under Deepam 2.0, and provision of solar power to every household.
Criticising the previous YSRCP government for creating chaos in land records, Mr. Naidu said all land records are now being secured using blockchain technology. He announced that pattadar passbooks are being distributed on the 9th of every month to safeguard people's assets, and the land re-survey exercise will be completed by March next year. Measures are being taken to commence production at the Kadapa Steel Plant by 2028.
Mr. Naidu noted that companies such as Hero Motors, LG, and Dalmia are setting up operations in the state, and Rayalaseema will be developed into a horticultural and industrial hub with public and private investments of ₹1 lakh crore. He expressed satisfaction over the Centre clearing the Kurnool-Bellary railway line.
