Andhra Pradesh Revamps Disability Assessment with Zonal Slot Booking from July 8

The Andhra Pradesh government has announced changes to the process of disability assessment and certification under the SADAREM (Software for Assessment of Disabled for Access, Rehabilitation and Empowerment) system, aiming to reduce inconvenience and improve service utilisation for persons with disabilities.

Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav stated on Sunday that from July 8, a zonal slot booking system will replace the existing State-wide process. Applicants must book assessment slots within their designated zone, not anywhere in the state. The Health Department has divided the districts into six zones:

Zone 1: Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Parvathipuram Manyam, Visakhapatnam
Zone 2: Alluri Sitharama Raju, East Godavari, Kakinada, Dr B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema
Zone 3: West Godavari, Eluru, NTR, Krishna, Polavaram
Zone 4: Guntur, Palnadu, Bapatla, Prakasam, Markapuram, SPSR Nellore
Zone 5: Tirupati, Chittoor, Annamayya, YSR Kadapa
Zone 6: Nandyal, Anantapur, Kurnool, Sri Sathya Sai

The Minister also made it mandatory for applicants to self-declare their disability to prevent false bookings. Those unsure of their disability category must obtain a certificate from a qualified general physician before booking an appointment.

Additionally, online attendance registration before disability assessment camps is now mandatory. Applicants must register attendance on the SADAREM portal prior to assessment; activation of their SADAREM ID will be linked to this process.

The revised slot booking system begins on July 8, while disability assessment camps at selected hospitals will start on July 13. Slot booking will remain open until the end of August.
