27 nations, 276 personnel take part in Indian Navy-led maritime security drill in Kochi

A four-day multinational maritime security training engagement, 'Operation Southern Readiness 26-2', concluded in Kochi on Thursday, July 23, 2026. The exercise was conducted by the Indian Navy in partnership with the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) under the aegis of the Southern Naval Command and the Indian Navy-led Combined Task Force (CTF) 154.

A total of 276 personnel from 27 countries participated in the event. The engagement was inaugurated on July 20 by Rear Admiral Deepak Singhal, Chief Staff Officer (Training), Headquarters, Southern Naval Command, in the presence of Commodore Dan Thomas, Royal Navy, Deputy Commander of Combined Maritime Forces.

The closing ceremony featured an address by Commodore Milind M. Mokashi, Commander of CTF 154, according to a Navy release. The training aimed to enhance interoperability and maritime security cooperation among participating nations.
