World Cup Round of 32: Which Teams Have Qualified and Who’s Out

The FIFA World Cup has crossed the halfway mark, with 54 matches played. The knockout stage begins with the Round of 32, where teams must win five elimination games to become champions.

As of Friday morning, several top teams like England, Spain, and Portugal have not yet secured their spots. Below is a breakdown of confirmed qualifiers and eliminated teams.

Teams Qualified for Round of 32

Mexico (Group A): Co-hosts of the 2026 World Cup, Mexico won all three group matches for the first time, topping Group A with a 3-0 win over the Czech Republic. They will play their Round of 32 match at Estadio Azteca, where they are undefeated in nine World Cup matches.

South Africa (Group A): South Africa secured second place in Group A with a 1-0 win over South Korea, advancing for the first time since 2010. They will face Switzerland in the next round.

Switzerland (Group B): Switzerland beat co-host Canada 2-1 to top Group B. They will play in Vancouver on July 2 against a third-place finisher.

Canada (Group B): Despite losing to Switzerland, Canada advanced as Group B's second-placed team — their first knockout stage appearance. They will travel to Inglewood, California, to face South Africa.

Bosnia and Herzegovina (Group B): Bosnia advanced as the best third-place team in Group B after a 3-1 win over Qatar. They are set to face the United States at Levi's Stadium on July 1.
