Visakhapatnam: 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign to hoist flags from August 13-15

The Visakhapatnam district administration has urged residents, commercial establishments, and government offices to hoist the national flag from August 13 to 15 as part of the nationwide 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign. District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore made the appeal on Monday, encouraging widespread public participation in celebrating the spirit of Independence Day.

The campaign is being organised in coordination with the Andhra Pradesh government's 'Partners in Nation Building' and 'Ane Nenu' initiatives, which are scheduled to run from August 10 to 15. These programmes aim to foster a sense of civic responsibility and active involvement in the country's developmental journey.

As part of the activities, a mega plantation drive will be conducted across the district on August 14 in collaboration with the Forest and Horticulture departments. The initiative seeks to combine patriotic fervour with environmental conservation, urging citizens to contribute to a greener future.

In addition, government buildings, bus and railway stations, and major junctions in Visakhapatnam will be illuminated on August 14 and 15. The visual display is intended to create a festive atmosphere and remind the public of the sacrifices made by the nation's freedom fighters.

Students from various educational institutions will take pledges reaffirming their commitment to upholding the values of the Constitution and the nation. Citizens have also been encouraged to post selfie videos on social media platforms, sharing their flag-hoisting moments and spreading the campaign's message digitally.

The 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, first launched in 2022 as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, aims to deepen the connection between citizens and the national flag. By encouraging every household to display the tricolour, the initiative seeks to instil a sense of pride and belonging among all Indians.

District officials have appealed to all sections of society, including residents, shopkeepers, and institutional heads, to actively participate and ensure the campaign's success. The administration has also assured that necessary arrangements are in place to facilitate smooth conduct of the events.
