Uttar Pradesh CM Inaugurates Development Projects, Warns Against Those Endangering Safety

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 57 development projects worth ₹574 crore in Bulandshahr. Addressing the gathering, he attributed the state's past atmosphere of fear and insecurity to the failures of previous governments, stating that daughters and traders did not feel safe and many families stopped sending children to school.

“During that period, riots occurred, and curfews were enforced in various districts of western Uttar Pradesh, including Bulandshahr. At that time, daughters and traders felt unsafe, leading many families to halt their daughters’ education. Previously, each district had its own mafia, and every police station was associated with a functioning extortion syndicate. The underprivileged were denied justice, women faced insecurity, and traders operated in a climate of fear,” Mr. Adityanath said.

The Chief Minister claimed that the situation has now improved significantly. “The government has taken strict action against the mafia. We had reiterated that we would reduce the mafia to dust, and we have done so. There are only two places for those who endanger the safety of daughters and traders: jail or hell,” he said.

Mr. Adityanath highlighted the transformation of Bulandshahr under the 'New Uttar Pradesh' of 'New India', noting that the Ganga Expressway now passes through the district, reducing travel time to Prayagraj to about five hours. He also announced the approval of a Link Expressway connecting the Ganga Expressway to Jewar International Airport, and the government's acceptance of a demand to increase compensation for farmers.

“With improved connectivity, Bulandshahr would be able to enter a new era of industrialisation, creating large-scale employment opportunities,” he said. He added that Jewar Airport, spread across nearly 14,000 acres, will serve as an Aircraft Repair and Maintenance hub and provide cargo and passenger connectivity.

During the event, the Chief Minister distributed laptops, cheques, keys, thermal printers, Ayushman cards, scholarships, subsidies, toolkits, and certificates to beneficiaries. He also visited an exhibition and presented toys to young children.

Mr. Adityanath noted that the Kalyan Singh Medical College has been established in Bulandshahr, and that improved connectivity will promote Khurja pottery and sugarcane farmers. He also mentioned the development of an International Film City, Apparel Park, Medical Device Park, Toy Park, IT and Electronics City, and Fintech City near Jewar Airport.
