US Insurance Giant Nationwide Opens First International Campus in Hyderabad
Hyderabad has added another global corporation to its roster of financial services centres, with the inauguration of the Nationwide Global Services Centre. The facility, located in the city, is the first international campus for the US-based insurance and financial services company, complementing its three existing locations in the United States.
The centre will support increased business demand, advance long-term growth objectives, and expand the company’s global operational capabilities, according to Vikas Jaswal, Managing Director of Nationwide Global Services – India.
Nationwide has currently onboarded 60 employees at the new facility, with plans to grow the workforce to over 100 as operational capabilities are developed further. Jaswal highlighted Hyderabad’s skilled talent pool and established global capability ecosystem as key factors in choosing the location for the company’s India office.
“The highly skilled talent market in India and established global capability ecosystem in Hyderabad make it an ideal choice for our Nationwide India office and expanded global workforce,” Jaswal said. The facility will build critical capabilities, support business operations, and drive greater speed and productivity across the organisation.
Telangana’s IT and Industries Minister, D. Sridhar Babu, welcomed the development, noting that Hyderabad has emerged as a leading global innovation destination for banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI). According to a government release, nine of the world’s top ten BFSI firms are driving innovation and advanced product engineering from Hyderabad. Nationwide, a prominent American insurer, thus joins Telangana’s growing network of Global Value Centres (GVCs).
The opening of this centre underscores the continued confidence of international financial firms in India’s talent and infrastructure, particularly in Hyderabad, which has become a hub for global capability centres. The move is expected to generate employment and contribute to the local economy.
