UP Teacher Recruitment 2026: 15,012 Posts Notified, Registration Begins September 16

The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has issued recruitment notifications for 15,012 teacher posts in the state, covering the Basic Education and Secondary Education departments. The notification is among the largest single rounds of teacher recruitment announced in the state this year.

According to the notifications, the vacancies fall into three categories. The largest share — 11,508 posts — is for Assistant Teacher (Urban). Another 897 Assistant Teacher posts are in the attached primary sections of non-government-aided secondary schools. The remaining 2,607 posts are for Post Graduate Teachers (PGT).

For the 11,508 Assistant Teacher (Urban) and 897 Assistant Teacher posts, the registration process begins on September 16. The last date for depositing the application fee is October 15. Candidates who need to make corrections to their submitted applications may do so until October 19. The written examination for these posts is scheduled for December 3 and 4.

For the 2,607 Post Graduate Teacher posts, online registration and the application process begin on September 18. The last date for depositing the application fee is October 17, and corrections to applications will be allowed until October 21. The examination for these posts is scheduled for December 15 and 16.

Because the two sets of vacancies follow separate timelines, candidates should check which notification applies to them and note the corresponding deadlines. Applications for the two categories are distinct and must be submitted according to the schedule laid down for each.

The commission has also introduced a One-Time Registration (OTR) system for candidates applying against the advertised posts. Under this system, an applicant must complete the OTR process before applying for any of the notified posts. Candidates who have not yet completed OTR should do so well before the application deadline to avoid last-minute difficulties.

The detailed advertisements, eligibility criteria, and application instructions are available on the official UPESSC website, upessc.up.gov.in. Applicants are advised to read the detailed notification for the post they intend to apply for, in full, before submitting an application, and to satisfy themselves that they meet the prescribed eligibility conditions.

Candidates should also note that recruitment schedules are sometimes revised. The official UPESSC website should be treated as the final authority on dates, eligibility and application instructions. Information circulated through social media forwards, unofficial portals or coaching centres may not always be accurate and should be verified against the official notification.

The scale of this recruitment reflects the size of Uttar Pradesh's school system and the continuing demand for teachers across urban and semi-urban schools. The posts will be filled through written examinations scheduled for December, as per the notified schedule.

Applicants are encouraged to keep ready the documents required for registration, to check the fee payment window carefully, and to retain copies of their submitted application and payment receipts for future reference.
