Two Young Lives Lost: Separate Road Accidents in Tambaram Claim College Students

Two college students were killed in two separate road accidents near Tambaram on Saturday, according to police officials. The incidents occurred within hours of each other, highlighting road safety concerns in the area.

In the first accident, Akash, 21, a resident of Nagalkeni near Pallavaram, was riding a motorcycle with his friend Farook from Tambaram towards Nagalkeni. On reaching the MIT flyover on GST Road, Akash lost control of the vehicle and collided with a concrete barricade. He died on the spot due to a head injury. Farook, riding pillion, sustained fractures and was admitted to Tambaram Government Hospital. The Chromepet traffic investigation police have registered a case.

In the second incident, Nitish, 24, a native of Tiruvannamalai district, had recently completed his Agricultural Engineering degree at Bharat College. He had received his diploma three days prior and was planning to return to his hometown. On Saturday night, he was riding a two-wheeler with his friend Sevak, 24, a doctor. After dining at a hotel near the college, they were returning when a motorcycle trying to overtake them struck their vehicle. The impact caused Nitish's vehicle to crash into a wall, killing him on the spot. Sevak sustained a head injury and is in critical condition at a private hospital. The Pallikaranai Traffic Investigation Police have filed a case and are investigating.

Authorities have urged witnesses to come forward and advised motorists to exercise caution on the roads.
