Two Arrested After Exchange of Fire in Guru Randhawa Gym Shooting Case
The Delhi Police Special Cell's counter-intelligence unit arrested two men during an early-morning operation in West Delhi on Thursday for their alleged involvement in the firing at singer Guru Randhawa's gym earlier this month. Police reported that the suspects, identified as Sagar (20) and Haqeeqat (21), sustained gunshot wounds to their legs during the exchange of fire and are currently being questioned.
The two are accused, along with two others — Arman (19) and Tushar (21) — of opening fire at the Randhawa-owned 24 HS Gym on June 11. Officials stated that the attack was carried out on behalf of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, a criminal syndicate involved in several high-profile cases.
According to police, Sagar and Haqeeqat were riding a motorcycle when they were stopped by a police team in Paschim Vihar. The accused allegedly fired at the police team that had laid a trap; in response, the police returned fire, and the two sustained leg injuries. A Pakistan-made pistol was seized from their possession.
Police are investigating the origins of the weapon and the suspects' links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Both suspects are believed to be first-time offenders. The other two accused, Arman and Tushar, remain at large. Further details are awaited as the investigation continues.
