TMC MP Mahua Moitra Livestreams Alleged Egg Attack on Party Office in West Bengal

Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra livestreamed an alleged attack on her party office in Nadia district, West Bengal, on Wednesday, claiming that workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were responsible.

Moitra, who represents the Krishnanagar constituency in the Lok Sabha, broadcast the incident from a third-floor window of the transit office located along a national highway. In the video, eggs can be seen striking the building's walls and windows while a crowd outside chants slogans.

The footage, shared on social media, quickly gained traction. Eyewitnesses described the scene as a continuous barrage of eggs, though the exact number of people involved and the duration of the attack remain unverified.

West Bengal has witnessed frequent political clashes between the ruling TMC and the opposition BJP in recent years. Both parties have accused each other of inciting violence during election campaigns and rallies.

At the time of writing, no official complaint or police case had been registered regarding the incident. Moitra has not provided further evidence linking the attackers to the BJP.

The BJP state unit has not issued a statement responding to the allegations.
