Three Suspects in Drug Raid Attack Arrested After Mohali Encounter, Two Injured
Mohali police on Monday arrested three individuals accused of attacking an anti-narcotics team over the weekend, following an encounter in the Chao Majra area. Two of the suspects sustained injuries during the operation, and police recovered two .32 bore firearms from them.
The incident dates back to Saturday when the district anti-narcotics team received a tip-off about drug trafficking. The team apprehended two suspects, but during the operation, assailants arriving in another vehicle opened fire and attacked the police party with swords. Two police personnel were injured in the attack, and the assailants managed to free their two associates and flee.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mohali, Harmandeep Singh Hans, confirmed that an FIR had been registered at the Sohana police station in connection with the case. He stated that the arrested individuals are believed to be part of the group that carried out the attack. The injured suspects are receiving medical treatment under police custody.
Authorities have not yet released the identities of the accused. The investigation is ongoing to determine if there are other individuals involved in the drug trafficking network.
