Third COVID-19 Death in Andhra Pradesh as State Reports Three New Cases
Andhra Pradesh has recorded its third COVID-19 fatality, with a 66-year-old man succumbing to the disease on Wednesday, July 15. The patient, who had pre-existing conditions including respiratory issues, pneumonia, diabetes, hypertension and kidney problems, tested positive for the coronavirus on July 3. He was treated at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences in Kadapa, Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences in Tirupati, and a private hospital before his death. Health officials have stated that the death was primarily due to comorbidities, with COVID-19 being a contributing factor.
In addition, three new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in the state. A politician with a travel history to Hyderabad in the first week of July tested positive on July 12 after experiencing fever, bodyache and breathlessness. He is currently undergoing treatment at King George Hospital in Visakhapatnam and is reported to be in stable condition.
Two other patients are being treated at AIIMS in Mangalagiri, though details about their symptoms and travel history have not yet been released.
This latest death follows two earlier COVID-19 fatalities in the YSR Kadapa and Annamayya districts. The state's health department continues to monitor the situation and urges the public to follow preventive measures.
