Telangana Unveils Indiramma Housing Scheme: Subsidy, Eligibility, and Application Details Announced
The Telangana government has officially launched the Indiramma Houses scheme for Hyderabad and its Core Urban Region (CURE), aiming to provide affordable housing to eligible residents. The scheme was announced on Monday, July 20, 2026, with housing units to be constructed in high-rise buildings.
According to the official brochure released by Housing and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, each flat will have a carpet area of 400 square feet and a built-up area of 528 square feet. The government will provide a subsidy of Rs 5 lakh, while the tentative beneficiary contribution is Rs 6 lakh, excluding the subsidy. The brochure was also released in the presence of Hyderabad in-charge Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Rangareddy in-charge Minister D Sridhar Babu, and MLAs from various constituencies in Hyderabad.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply, individuals must be residents of Hyderabad (CURE) for the last 10 years. The applicant or their family should not own a house, flat, or plot within the Outer Ring Road (ORR) or CURE area. Additionally, applicants must not have availed a similar housing benefit earlier. The government has warned that false declarations, suppression of facts, or duplicate applications may lead to rejection.
Application Process
Applications can be submitted through MeeSeva, WhatsApp, or a dedicated web portal. Applicants must pay a Rs 100 application fee and an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of Rs 10,000. After submission, a 360-degree verification will be conducted to check income, family details, and duplicate applications.
Selection Procedure
If the number of applications exceeds the available units, a lottery will be held to select beneficiaries. Following provisional allotment, field verification and stage payments will be completed. The registration process will then be undertaken, and the house will be handed over to the beneficiary.
The scheme is part of the state government's efforts to provide affordable housing in urban areas, targeting low-income families who do not own any property within the designated region.
