Telangana to provide pensions to 3 lakh eligible beneficiaries soon: Minister
Hyderabad, July 8 (PTI) — Telangana Labour and Employment Minister Vivek Venkataswamy announced that the state government will provide pensions to three lakh eligible beneficiaries in the coming days. The minister made this statement during a face-to-face interaction programme held at Gandhi Bhavan on Wednesday.
Participating in the programme, Mr. Venkataswamy said several representations were received from citizens seeking pensions, double-bedroom houses, and solutions to land-related issues. He stated that some grievances were resolved on the spot after discussions with District Collectors, while others were being taken up for further action.
The minister also noted that a dedicated monitoring cell had been established to ensure effective follow-up of complaints received during the programme, and that complaints were being reviewed daily.
In his address, Mr. Venkataswamy alleged that ration cards had not been issued during the previous government led by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) for nearly ten years. He claimed that after the Congress government assumed office, ration cards were issued to all eligible beneficiaries, and that no one approached him seeking a ration card during the interaction programme.
The face-to-face interaction programme is part of the Congress government's commitment to addressing public grievances promptly and transparently, the minister added.
