Telangana launches massive police recruitment drive for 7,437 posts

The Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board (TGSLPRB) on Wednesday issued notifications to fill 7,437 vacancies across multiple departments, marking one of the state's largest recruitment drives in recent years.

The vacancies span the Police Department, Special Protection Force (SPF), Fire, Disaster Response, Emergency and Civil Defence, and Prisons and Correctional Services departments. The Police Department accounts for the largest share with 5,000 posts, including 148 Sub Inspectors (Civil), 3,697 Police Constables (Civil), and 1,052 Police Constables (AR), among others.

The Special Protection Force will recruit 44 Sub Inspectors and 1,380 Constables, while the Fire, Disaster Response, Emergency and Civil Defence Department has notified 39 Station Fire Officer posts and 751 Fire Fighter vacancies. The Prisons and Correctional Services Department will fill 223 posts, comprising 14 Deputy Jailors (Men), one Deputy Jailor (Women), 196 Warders (Male), and 12 Warders (Female).

The Board stated that the schedule for online applications will be announced separately. Candidates have been advised to ensure they meet the prescribed physical and medical standards by undergoing examination with a Civil Surgeon before applying. They are also asked to keep ready necessary certificates related to Scheduled Caste sub-classification, Economically Weaker Sections, non-creamy layer status, local candidature, and other special categories for upload during the recruitment process.
