Telangana Government Deploys 10 IAS Officers to Monitor Monsoon Preparedness Across Districts

The Telangana government has appointed 10 senior IAS officers as special officers for the erstwhile districts to monitor seasonal conditions, including rainfall, water availability, agriculture, and other critical sectors. The move comes as the state anticipates the impact of adverse weather patterns.

The special officers have been tasked with monitoring rainfall, reservoir and groundwater levels, drinking water availability, crop conditions, horticulture, power supply, and other key indicators. They will also ensure effective coordination among various departments to mitigate the impact of seasonal challenges.

According to the government order, the officers will visit their allotted erstwhile districts on July 20 and assist the district in-charge ministers in conducting review meetings with public representatives and senior officials. The Chief Minister will subsequently chair a state-level review meeting with the ministers and the appointed special officers.

The officers will continue to monitor the situation in coordination with district collectors and state-level departmental officials. The appointed officers and their assigned districts are: Jayesh Ranjan (Hyderabad), Vikas Raj (Rangareddy), Benhur Mahesh Dutt Ekka (Karimnagar), A. Vani Prasad (Medak), Yogita Rana (Nizamabad), Harichandana Dasari (Nalgonda), Ilambarithi K. (Adilabad), A. Sridevasena (Warangal), V.P. Gautham (Mahabubnagar), and Anudeep Durishetty (Khammam).

The government has also drawn up a detailed agenda for the district review meetings, covering weather forecasts, crop progress, contingency plans, irrigation storage, groundwater status, power supply, drinking water management, livestock preparedness, and district-specific agricultural advisories.
