Telangana Cabinet to tackle weak monsoon, pending infrastructure approvals on July 17

The Telangana Cabinet is scheduled to meet on Friday, July 17, 2026, with key administrative and policy issues on the agenda. This meeting holds significance as it is the first Cabinet session chaired after the appointment of Sanjay Jaju as the State’s new Chief Secretary.

One of the primary issues expected to be discussed is the weak progress of the monsoon across Telangana and its impact on agriculture, irrigation, and drinking water supply. The Cabinet is likely to review rainfall deficits in several districts and consider measures to support farmers if the dry spell continues.

In addition, the Cabinet is expected to deliberate on pending approvals from the Union Government, including the delay in clearance for the Hyderabad Metro Rail expansion and other major infrastructure proposals submitted by the State. The meeting will address these pending matters to expedite development projects.
