Telangana ACB seizes ₹1.5 crore cash, 12 gold biscuits in fresh searches linked to survey official
The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday (June 20, 2026) recovered ₹1.5 crore in cash, 12 gold biscuits, and nearly two kilograms of gold and diamond ornaments during the second round of searches on bank lockers linked to Sunkari Narahari Rao, Deputy Director, Multi Zone-II, Survey and Land Records. Rao is already under investigation in a disproportionate assets (DA) case.
The agency opened two bank lockers held in the name of Rao's wife at a Canara Bank branch in Shalibanda after obtaining search warrants from the Special Court for SPE and ACB Cases in Hyderabad. The recovery adds to the ₹13.05 crore detected during earlier searches on June 16, 2026. The newly recovered items include ₹1.5 crore in cash, 12 gold biscuits weighing 100 grams each, and gold and diamond ornaments weighing around two kilograms.
Rao is currently in judicial custody as the investigation continues. The ACB has not yet disclosed further details about the source of the assets or whether any other individuals are being examined.
