Tata Sons profit up 21.8% in FY26; Air India losses more than double to Rs 22,238 crore

Tata Sons, the principal holding company of the Tata group, reported a 21.8% increase in profit after tax to Rs 31,961.11 crore for the financial year 2025-26 (FY26), compared to Rs 26,231.74 crore in FY25. The group's revenue rose 9.1% to Rs 42,366.55 crore during the same period, according to the company's annual report.

However, the group's flagship aviation business, Air India, saw its losses more than double to Rs 22,238 crore in FY26. The worsening financial performance comes as the Tata group continues to integrate and restructure its airline businesses following its acquisition of Air India in 2021.

The company has recommended a final dividend of Rs 1.11 lakh per share. This means Noel Tata, Chairman of Tata Trusts, who holds 4,060 shares in Tata Sons, will receive Rs 45 crore in dividend income.

Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran received a total remuneration of Rs 158.6 crore in FY26. This includes commission of Rs 140.69 crore and salary and other compensation of Rs 17.97 crore, as per the annual report.
