Tamil Nadu Police Execute 2,385 Non-Bailable Warrants in Week-Long Crackdown

In a concerted statewide operation from July 1, the Tamil Nadu Police executed 2,385 non-bailable warrants (NBWs) and arrested 949 offenders, according to an official statement from the police headquarters. The operation was conducted under the direction of Director-General of Police Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal, focusing on preventive policing and proactive measures against habitual offenders and absconding accused.

During the drive, police checked 24,025 individuals classified as History Sheet (HS) rowdies or those who had come to adverse notice. Of these, 949 were arrested and sent to jail. The enforcement efforts also targeted pending NBWs, with sustained surveillance and checking operations across the state.

The police statement emphasised that the special drive enhanced coordination among field units, strengthened preventive policing, and improved execution of warrants. It said the operation facilitated focused action against habitual offenders and trouble-mongers, contributing to public order and the safety of women and children in Tamil Nadu.

The operation underscores the state police's commitment to law enforcement and maintaining public safety through targeted actions against criminal elements. No further details on the specific crimes or identities of those arrested were provided in the statement.
