Spain wins World Cup after Ferran Torres extra-time goal beats Argentina

Spain won the FIFA World Cup for the second time in their history, defeating Argentina 1-0 in the final at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Ferran Torres scored the decisive goal in the 106th minute of extra time, securing the title for La Roja.

The match was tightly contested and lacked the dramatic flow seen earlier in the tournament. Both teams had chances but failed to break the deadlock in regular time. Argentina's Enzo Fernandez was sent off in the second half, reducing his team to 10 men. Despite the numerical advantage, Spain struggled to find the net until Torres's strike.

The goal came after a swift move down the right flank. Lamine Yamal passed to Pedro Porro, whose cross was headed back by Nico Williams to Torres. With space and time, Torres controlled the ball and fired past Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

The final moments were marred by a scuffle between players, leading to a red card for Argentina's Leandro Paredes. Spain's players celebrated wildly, while Argentine captain Lionel Messi was seen in tears. Spain's Rodri and Pedri consoled Messi after the match.

Spain dominated possession throughout and were considered the better team over the tournament. The win marks the beginning of what many expect to be a new era of Spanish dominance in international football.
