Shauryathon in Drass: 3,000 Runners Join Army-Sarhad Foundation Event; Shiv Sena Donates CT Scan Machine

Drass, July 6: The Sarhad Shauryathon, a marathon jointly organised by the Sarhad Foundation and the Indian Army, was flagged off by Dr. Shrikant Shinde, leader of the Shiv Sena Parliamentary Party, in Drass on July 6. The event saw the participation of around 3,000 runners.

Earlier in the day, Dr. Shinde addressed a programme at the Drass District Hospital. He announced that the Shiv Sena had donated a CT scan machine and an ambulance to the hospital. Maharashtra Minister of State Yogesh Kadam, Shiv Sena State Organisation Chief Anand Paranjape, Ladakh MP Haji Mohammad Hanifa, and Sarhad Foundation President Sanjay Nahar were present at the event.

Dr. Shinde said that the party has undertaken several public welfare initiatives in Kashmir under the leadership of Eknath Shinde. He cited the installation of a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Kupwara and a contribution of ₹3 crore to the Kargil War Memorial. “The party fulfils its promises,” he stated.

He also noted that Eknath Shinde had travelled to Kashmir after the Pahalgam terror attack and arranged for the return of stranded tourists from Maharashtra. The party built a house for the family of Syed Adil Hussain Shah, who died while saving tourists.

Following the marathon, Dr. Shinde visited the Kargil War Memorial and paid tribute to soldiers.
