Seven dead, 15 injured in bus-truck collision on Delhi-Mumbai Expressway
A passenger bus collided with a truck and caught fire on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Rajasthan's Dausa district early Wednesday, resulting in seven deaths and injuries to over 15 people, police said.
The accident occurred near Dhanawda under the Kolwa police station area.
Dausa Superintendent of Police Piyush Dixit said five victims died in the fire, while two others succumbed to severe head injuries.
"The bus was travelling from Rishikesh in Uttarakhand to Indore in Madhya Pradesh when it collided with a truck moving ahead of it on the expressway," he said.
The bus was operated by Hans Travels of Indore, according to police.
The impact triggered a fire in both vehicles, causing panic among passengers. The injured were rescued and taken to Dausa District Hospital for treatment.
Police, fire brigade personnel, and local administration teams reached the spot and conducted rescue operations. The fire was later brought under control.
