At least one security personnel was killed and several others injured when terrorists attacked a security convoy on the Amarnath Yatra route in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. The attack took place near the Pahalgam base camp, a crucial staging point for pilgrims heading to the holy cave shrine.
According to officials, a group of heavily armed terrorists opened fire on a vehicle carrying personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The security forces retaliated, and a brief exchange of fire ensued. The injured personnel were rushed to a nearby hospital, where one succumbed to his injuries.
