SC Panel Member Urges Universities to Strictly Follow Reservation Rules
Ravada Seetharam, a member of the Andhra Pradesh State Commission for Scheduled Castes, on Thursday urged the managements of all universities to implement reservation rules with full sincerity in their recruitment drives.
He visited the Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge and Technologies (RGUKT) campus at Etcherla and reviewed the appointment of Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates for teaching and non-teaching posts. As per the reservation policy, 15% of posts are reserved for SCs.
The university's Director, M. Giridhar, informed Seetharam that the institution has recently appointed SC candidates to top positions as part of the reservation policy. He also assured that all rules would be followed in the appointment of faculty members soon.
Seetharam requested the director to ensure compliance with reservation norms even in appointments made through outsourcing methods.
