Sailor and Mountaineer Inspire Cadets at Sainik School
Cadets at Sainik School, Kazhakuttam, gained valuable insights during a motivational talk on Saturday, featuring two Indian Navy officers who circumnavigated the globe and a mountaineer who scaled Mount Everest.
Lieutenant Commanders Dilna K. and Roopa A. of the Indian Navy, part of the all-women crew that sailed around the world aboard INSV Tarini, shared their experiences. Accompanied by Zuhra Cherukappalli, an accomplished mountaineer who summited Everest, they led the session titled 'Talk on Circumnavigation of the Globe and Mount Everest Expedition.'
The officers used presentations, photographs, and videos to narrate their oceanic journey. They emphasised the roles of teamwork, discipline, perseverance, planning, and mental resilience in overcoming challenges. Ms. Cherukappalli shared visuals from her Everest expedition, discussing the endurance and determination needed to conquer the world's highest peak.
Colonel Pramod M., Director of Kerala and Lakshadweep NCC Directorate; Colonel Dhirendra Kumar, Principal of Sainik School; and Commander Abraham Philip, Administrative Officer, were present, along with faculty and students.
