Rohit Sharma scores 34th ODI century in decisive match against England at Lord’s

Rohit Sharma, India opener and former captain, scored a century against England in the third and decisive One-Day International at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London on July 19, 2026. This was his 34th century in the 50-over format, achieved in 84 balls with 11 fours and 4 sixes.

Sharma’s innings made him the first Indian batter to score a century at Lord’s. He also now holds the record for the most centuries by an Indian in away matches (8 in England) and surpassed Sachin Tendulkar for the most centuries as an opener for India.

The match was part of the three-ODI series between England and India, with the outcome yet to be determined at the time of the century. Sharma’s performance came amid discussions about his future in ODI cricket, though he remained focused on the game.
