Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli return for England ODIs with strong record on British soil

The Indian cricket team is set to resume One Day International (ODI) action as their ongoing United Kingdom tour proceeds with a three-match ODI series against England, beginning on July 14. The series follows consecutive washouts in the T20I series against Ireland (2-0) and England (4-0), where no play was possible.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, both former captains, are set to return to the squad for the ODIs. Their presence is expected to provide stability to the batting lineup, particularly in English conditions that have historically challenged visiting teams.

Both players have impressive ODI records in England. Rohit Sharma has scored 698 runs in 15 matches at an average of 49.85, including three centuries. Virat Kohli has amassed 678 runs in 13 matches at an average of 56.50, with two centuries. Their performances have been pivotal in India's previous successes in England.

The series is part of India's preparation for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup, scheduled to be held later this year. The matches will be played at The Oval, Lord's, and Old Trafford respectively.
