Roche to Establish Second Digital Tech Hub in Hyderabad by 2027
Swiss healthcare multinational Roche has announced the establishment of a new digital technology hub in Hyderabad, its second such facility in India. The hub is scheduled to go live in the first quarter of 2027, with plans to scale operations over the following years.
The company, which already operates a digital technology hub in Pune, stated that the Hyderabad facility will expand its global network of technology centres. Teams at the new hub will focus on delivering IT services and digital applications in areas including biostatistics, enterprise resource planning (ERP), and medical safety.
In a statement, Roche emphasised that the Hyderabad hub will leverage local expertise in life sciences to accelerate the development of its digital solutions. The company did not disclose the size or proposed headcount of the new centre.
Ramesh Durvasula, Chief Data Officer at Roche, said: “Hyderabad is a destination for an exceptional talent pool, especially for the pharmaceutical and life sciences domain. By tapping into India’s vibrant healthcare and technology ecosystem, we are creating scalable data-driven innovations.”
Raja Jamalamadaka, Vice-President and Site Head for Roche’s Pune and Hyderabad sites, added: “The investment in Hyderabad reflects the company’s long-term commitment to India and its ecosystem. By scaling our footprint, we are enhancing our capability to orchestrate seamless, next-generation digital and technology solutions.”
This announcement follows Roche Pharma’s earlier establishment of a Global Analytics and Technology Centre of Excellence (GATE) in Hyderabad in October 2022, which aimed for a headcount of 100 by that year with plans for further expansion.
