Riyadh Air Enters India with Daily Mumbai-Riyadh Service Starting August 4
Saudi Arabia-based Riyadh Air has announced its entry into the Indian aviation market with the launch of a daily direct flight between Riyadh and Mumbai, starting August 4. The airline, backed by the Saudi sovereign wealth fund Public Investment Fund (PIF), opened bookings for the service on July 6.
The daily flight will be operated using a Boeing B787-9 aircraft configured with four classes: business elite, business, premium economy, and economy. This route is part of Riyadh Air's expanding network, which now covers nine destinations, with more expected to be announced soon.
Tony Douglas, CEO of Riyadh Air, said, 'With India emerging as one of the fastest-growing aviation markets globally, we are delighted to offer travellers a new premium choice and enhanced global connectivity from Mumbai to Riyadh, and onwards to Europe.' The airline, launched in March 2023, aims to connect over 100 destinations globally by 2030.
The Mumbai-Riyadh route will cater to both business and leisure travellers from India, providing onward connectivity to Europe and the Middle East, including cities like London, Madrid, Jeddah, and Cairo. The service also addresses the needs of the Indian expatriate community in Saudi Arabia, offering a new option for travel back to India.
This move underscores Riyadh Air's commitment to one of the world's largest aviation markets and positions Riyadh as a key transit hub, strengthening ties between India and Saudi Arabia.
