Rishabh Pant returns to Delhi Capitals in major IPL trade, Kuldeep Yadav moves to LSG

Rishabh Pant is set to rejoin Delhi Capitals in a significant Indian Premier League (IPL) trade, with wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav moving from Delhi to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). The deal, confirmed on Tuesday, marks a dramatic reversal for Pant, who left Delhi Capitals just two seasons ago.

Pant was acquired by LSG for a record INR 27 crore at the IPL 2025 Mega Auction, the highest winning bid in the league's history. Under the terms of this trade, he will return to Delhi at a salary of INR 15 crore — a reduction of Rs 12 crore from his current deal. The financial details of Kuldeep Yadav's contract with LSG have not been disclosed.

Pant, a wicket-keeper batter, had earlier expressed a desire to move on from Delhi Capitals, a franchise he led for several seasons. His return is expected to bolster Delhi's middle order and provide leadership experience. Kuldeep, a left-arm wrist-spinner, has been a key bowler for Delhi and will add variety to LSG's spin attack.

The trade has been approved by the IPL governing council and will take effect from the upcoming season. Both franchises have confirmed the exchange, though no other players or monetary considerations are involved.
