Rescued Minor Girl Alleges Neighbour Harassment; Police Probe Underway

A minor girl rescued by the Ajmer police last month after allegedly being held captive for over seven months and forced into marriage has now accused her neighbours of harassing her and her family. The girl, who lives with her parents in a rented house, told the police that five people forcibly entered their home on Wednesday and assaulted her and her mother.

The girl's father works as a daily wager, and she is one of seven siblings. According to her statement to The Indian Express, the neighbours have been taunting her mother, saying she 'sold the girl to make money.' The family alleges that the harassment is intended to force them to leave the rented accommodation.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Laxman Ram confirmed that the police have taken cognizance of the complaint and assured that action will be taken against the accused. The investigation is ongoing.

This incident comes in the wake of the girl's rescue last month from a situation where she was allegedly forced into marriage. The original case is also under investigation. The police have urged the public to refrain from speculation and allow the legal process to proceed.

The authorities have advised the family to report any further incidents immediately and have assured them of protection. The district administration has been informed to ensure the family's safety.
