Red Fort Security Heightened After Hoax Bomb Threat, Police Investigate Caller

Delhi Police deployed a bomb disposal squad and conducted anti-sabotage checks at the Red Fort on Friday after receiving a bomb threat call, officials said. The threat, originally made to the Mumbai police control room and later forwarded to Delhi, was declared a hoax following an extensive search of the premises.

Security around the Red Fort had already been stepped up in view of the upcoming Independence Day celebrations. In response to the threat, the police followed standard protocol by summoning the bomb squad and conducting thorough scans. No suspicious objects were found, a senior police official confirmed.

Efforts are now underway to identify the caller and understand the motive behind the false alarm. Investigations are ongoing, with authorities examining call records and other leads.
