Ram temple donations case: Eight accused remanded to 14-day judicial custody
All eight individuals arrested in connection with the alleged embezzlement of donations collected for the Ram temple were on Monday (June 29, 2026) remanded to 14 days of judicial custody by a local court, according to case officials.
The accused were produced before Special Judge, Anti-Corruption Court, Rajat Verma through video conferencing after their earlier judicial custody expired, said Special Prosecution Officer Umesh Dubey.
Police did not apply for the custody of the accused, he added.
The eight had earlier been remanded to three days of judicial custody until Monday (June 29, 2026) by a special remand magistrate.
The court's decision follows allegations that the accused were involved in misappropriating funds donated for the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. The case has drawn attention due to the temple's significance in Indian society.
Further details on the specific charges and the alleged amount of embezzlement are awaited. The investigation continues.
