Ram Temple Donation Scam: Former Deputy CM Calls for Fair Investigation

Former Deputy Chief Minister K.S. Eshwarappa has demanded a transparent investigation and strict action against those responsible for alleged embezzlement of donations meant for the Ram temple in Ayodhya. Speaking at a press conference on Friday, he expressed concern that the allegations have shaken the faith of devotees.

“I hope the Central government is not taking this lightly. There are reports of a long-standing conspiracy to siphon off funds, and there is clear failure on the part of the temple trust,” Mr. Eshwarappa said. He urged the Centre to ensure a fair probe and punish the guilty.

The former Deputy CM also highlighted the Sharavathi Pumped Storage Project, accusing Energy Minister K.J. George of rushing the tender process without awaiting mandatory clearances from the Central government and the National Wildlife Board. He described this as a pattern of seeking forgiveness rather than permission.

Environmental groups are planning a protest march titled “Kargal Chalo” on Sunday to oppose the project. Participants will gather from Shivamogga to Kargal in Sagar taluk, assembling at Freedom Park at 7 a.m. before demonstrating outside the KPCL office. Prof. B.M. Kumaraswamy, an environmentalist, confirmed that members of Rashtrabhaktara Balaga, Parisarakkagi Naavu, and other groups will join the march.
