Ram Mandir Donation Probe: SIT Granted 15-Day Extension for Inquiry

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing alleged irregularities in donations collected for the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya has been granted a 15-day extension by the court to complete its comprehensive inquiry.

The extension was sought by the SIT to conduct a thorough investigation, including scrutiny of financial records and witness statements. The court, after hearing submissions, allowed the additional time, noting the complexity of the case involving large sums of money collected from devotees across the country.

The SIT was constituted earlier this year following complaints of misappropriation and lack of transparency in donation collection drives. The probe aims to ensure that all funds were utilized appropriately for the temple construction and related activities.

The Ram Mandir trust has maintained that all donations were properly accounted for and welcomed the investigation to clear any doubts. The case is being closely watched as it involves the high-profile temple project.

The SIT is expected to submit its final report at the end of the extended period. Further updates are awaited.
