Rajasthan Arrest in Pune Businessman Firing: Police Nabs Bishnoi Gang Suspect

Pune police have detained a suspected member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in connection with a firing incident at a businessman's office last month, officials confirmed on Saturday.

The crime branch apprehended Pawan Ram from Hanumangarh district in Rajasthan on Friday. He is believed to be involved in the June 18 attack on the office of Amol Rajendra Chamadai, a steel businessman in Pune's Mantarwadi area.

Two unidentified persons opened fire at the office that night, causing panic in the locality. Soon after, individuals claiming links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang took responsibility via a social media post. A video of the firing also went viral.

Police officials stated that multiple teams were formed to trace the accused. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Gauhar Hasan personally supervised the operation from Rajasthan. According to the police, Chamadai alleged he received a phone call from someone identifying as 'Arzu Bishnoi' demanding ₹5 crore from him and his business partners.

Investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend other suspects involved in the case.
