Rajarhat Bomb Blast: Prime Suspect Arrested, Broker Also Held

The West Bengal Police have arrested the prime suspect in the Rajarhat bomb blast case late Saturday evening, officials confirmed. The accused, identified as Md Shamim, had recently rented a room on the ground floor of a four-storey residential building in the Supari Bagan area, where a crude bomb exploded on Friday night.

The blast occurred around 8.15 pm, damaging the structure and injuring a tenant living in an adjacent room. Police also recovered two live crude bombs from the property after the explosion.

In a related development, law enforcement arrested another individual, Md Shahenshah, who acted as the broker in the rental transaction. Both suspects are expected to be produced before the Barasat court on Sunday, where the police will seek their custody for further investigation.

Authorities are continuing their probe into the incident, including the motive behind the blast and the source of the explosives. The injured tenant is receiving medical treatment and is reported to be in stable condition.
