Punjab Man Dies After Being Set on Fire by Brother-in-Law While Trying to Bring Wife Home

In a tragic incident in Punjab's Tarn Taran district, a man was allegedly set on fire by his brother-in-law and later succumbed to his injuries. The victim, Lovepreet Singh, had gone to his in-laws' house on June 13 to persuade his wife, Sandeep Kaur, to return home following a disagreement.

According to police, Sandeep's brother, identified as Sajan Singh, allegedly poured an inflammable substance on Lovepreet and set him ablaze. A woman, Gurjit Kaur, who was Sajan's sister-in-law, rushed to help Lovepreet but also suffered severe burn injuries. Both Lovepreet and Gurjit later died during treatment.

Sajan Singh also sustained burn injuries and is currently hospitalized. Police have registered a case against him. CCTV footage of the incident has emerged, showing the attack and the victims' attempts to douse the flames. Authorities are investigating the circumstances leading to the incident.
