Puducherry Annual Credit Plan for 2026-27 Set at ₹17,500 Crore

The State-level Bankers Committee (SLBC) has proposed an Annual Credit Plan (ACP) of ₹17,500 crore for the Union Territory of Puducherry for the fiscal year 2026-27. This marks an increase of ₹5,400 crore over the previous year's plan of ₹12,100 crore, representing a growth rate of 44.62%.

The largest share of the credit outlay has been allocated to agriculture, with ₹11,700 crore earmarked for the sector. The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector has been allocated ₹5,130 crore, while other priority sectors have been assigned ₹670 crore.

The ACP for 2026-27 was released by Shiv Bajrang Singh, Executive Director and Chairman of SLBC and Indian Bank, along with Krishna Mohan Uppu, Secretary to Government (Finance), Union Territory of Puducherry. The meeting was attended by P.S. Harikrishnaraj, General Manager of NABARD, Chennai Regional Office; Sathish Kumar, Lead District Manager; and officials from various banks.

Prior to the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Indian Bank and the Puducherry government for the allotment of land for the construction of a building for the Rural Self Employment Training Institute.
