PM Modi Urges Productive Monsoon Session, Highlights 7.7% Growth Amid West Asia Crisis
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the media outside Parliament on Monday (July 20, 2026) ahead of the Monsoon Session, expressed hope that both the monsoon and the session would be productive. He called for meaningful discussions and a collective resolve to move the nation forward.
Modi highlighted that reforms initiated by his government have empowered the youth to take commendable steps. On the economy, he noted that despite challenges posed by the West Asia conflict, India registered a growth rate of 7.7%. He emphasized the country's dependence on energy imports and the difficulties created by the conflict.
The Prime Minister also pointed to recent achievements, particularly in the space sector, mentioning the startup Skyroot Aerospace, whose team has an average age of 28 years. He praised these young innovators for planting India's flag in space.
Modi urged all Members of Parliament to participate wholeheartedly in the proceedings, stating, “Positive spirit is essential for achieving the nation’s goals. Our House has very experienced MPs, regardless of party affiliation. The youth of the country demand that we move forward.”
