Pakistan summons Imran Khan's sister over claim of India-Pakistan collusion
Pakistan's National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has summoned Noreen Niazi, sister of former prime minister Imran Khan, for allegedly disseminating false and inflammatory content online, local news agency PTI reported on Saturday.
The summons requires Niazi to appear at the agency's Islamabad office on Monday to record her statement. The move follows a recent interview in which Niazi claimed that the military confrontation between India and Pakistan in May 2025 was orchestrated through collusion between Pakistan's military leadership and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to the agency, Niazi's remarks were intended to defame the country's institutions. The video of her interview has been widely circulated on social media platforms. In the video, Niazi alleged that the military operations were designed to enhance the image of the armed forces.
The May 2025 conflict between India and Pakistan saw military engagements along the border, resulting in casualties on both sides. The incident drew international concern and calls for de-escalation. However, allegations of collusion between the two nations' leaderships have not been substantiated by independent sources.
This development adds to the ongoing political tensions in Pakistan, where Imran Khan and his supporters have frequently clashed with the country's military establishment. Niazi's summons is the latest in a series of actions against individuals critical of state institutions.
