NTA Invites Bids for Rs 7.5 Crore Security Contract to Protect Offices, Exam Material

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has initiated the process to strengthen its security infrastructure by floating a tender to hire a private security firm. The estimated cost of the contract is Rs 7.5 crore, according to the tender document issued by the agency.

The security services will be deployed at the NTA's headquarters on Minto Road, its regional office in Okhla, and other notified locations across the country. The selected firm will be responsible for round-the-clock protection of these premises, with special emphasis on securing sensitive examination materials.

The NTA, an autonomous body under the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, conducts several high-stakes entrance examinations including NEET-UG, JEE (Main), and UGC-NET. Given the scale and importance of these tests, the integrity and confidentiality of exam-related materials are paramount. The tender seeks to ensure that all such materials are safeguarded against theft, tampering, or unauthorised access.

Tender documents indicate that the security firm will be expected to provide trained personnel, including guards and supervisors, for both day and night shifts. The scope of work may also include access control, surveillance, and management of entry and exit points at the designated facilities.
