No Talks with Pakistan Unless About PoK, Says Rajnath Singh on Kargil Vijay Diwas

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated on Sunday that India will not hold talks with Pakistan unless they concern Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK). Speaking at the Kargil War Memorial in Dras on the 27th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Singh reiterated India's firm stance on the issue.

“Our intention is clear. There will be no talks with Pakistan,” Singh said. “If talks happen, they will happen only regarding PoK, which is a part of India illegally occupied by Pakistan.”

The minister's remarks came during the commemoration of the 1999 Kargil War, in which Indian forces successfully repelled Pakistani infiltrators from strategic heights in the Kargil sector. Singh also warned Pakistan against any future “misadventure,” emphasizing that the Indian Army is fully prepared to defend the nation's sovereignty.

Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed annually on July 26 to honor the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the conflict. This year's ceremony included tributes to the fallen and a reaffirmation of India's commitment to territorial integrity.
