NMDC's Bailadila Kabaddi League Aims to Unearth Rural Sporting Talent in Chhattisgarh

Navratna public sector undertaking NMDC Limited is hosting the NMDC Bailadila Kabaddi League from July 23 to 26 in the Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh. The four-day tournament, organised under the company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, aims to identify and nurture sporting talent from 26 villages in the Bailadila region, according to a press release issued on Thursday.

A total of 24 teams, representing Gram Panchayats from the Bacheli and Kirandul areas, will compete for top honours. League matches are scheduled at the Kirandul Football Stadium and the Bacheli Hockey Ground, while the opening and closing ceremonies will take place at the NMDC Township Hockey Ground in Bacheli.

As part of the initiative, NMDC will distribute complete sports kits and necessary equipment to all participating teams. The event was graced by sarpanches, public representatives, senior officials from the company's Hyderabad headquarters, project personnel from Bailadila Iron Ore Mines, and trade union representatives.
