Netanyahu Counters Vance: India Among Israel's Powerful Allies

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday cited support from India, pushing back against remarks by U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance that the United States was Israel's only powerful ally anywhere in the world.

In an interview on Fox News Sunday Briefing, Netanyahu said Israel enjoys support from many nations, including a large and important partner. 'We have some other friends, like a small country called India, you know, it has 1.4 billion people and, boy, do we have tremendous support there,' he said.

The exchange comes after Vance, during a White House briefing last month, urged Israel to respect U.S.-Iran peace talks. Responding to reports that Israeli leaders were unhappy with the U.S.-Iran agreement, Vance stated, 'If I was in the Cabinet of the Israeli government, I might not be attacking the only powerful ally that I have anywhere left in the entire world.'

Netanyahu rejected the notion that Israel lacks other allies, highlighting widespread support on social media and from countries seeking Israeli expertise. 'You know, I have this Facebook thing, and I have overwhelming support there. I may have many others,' he said, adding that numerous leaders reach out to him for cooperation in cybersecurity and military technology.

'Israel is the number two country in cyber in the world, and our technology is so good. So the relations are not quite as they appear,' Netanyahu said, emphasizing the depth of Israel's global partnerships.
